I had seen the trailer for Straight Outta Compton a couple of times before the film came out and was intrigued by it ,however all of the press such as ads all over the web, movie posters, radio and T.V. interviews, got me more and more anxious for the film to release. I am not what you would call the biggest N.W.A. fan, however I do enjoy some of their music and was ready to get a basic understanding of the group’s history. The film is about 5 young men living in one of the most dangerous cities, and the struggle they had gone through in order to get their voices heard and meet their goals, which was creating great music. Director F. Gary Gray did a phenomenal job telling their story, showing some of the history and discrimination that was going on at that time. Oshea Jackson Jr. did an awesome portrayal of his father Ice Cube, as well as Corey Antonio Hawkins who did a great job playing Dr.Dre. The movie is 2 ½ hours and I did not want to leave my seat at all, it was entertaining from beginning to end, you feel every emotion & left you wanting more. I definitely recommend watching this movie and you do not have to be a hip hop fanatic to appreciate it, there is a much deeper meaning behind the film. The writing, directing, and acting was amazing throughout the movie and they deserve an A+ for their work. Do I see an Oscar in the future???. We will see…

My Review: imagesimagesimagesimagesimages copy

I was not sure what to expect from this film after watching the trailer (which I thought was kind of boring). I decided to give it a try mainly because my boyfriend wanted to check out the new Guy Ritchie film. I am not familiar at all with the 60’s T.V. show it is based on, therefore I cannot explain the similarities. The film takes place in England and Italy where two enemy spies have to work together in order to complete a special mission, with a beautiful young woman to help them of course. The movie had a lot of action, but it could have had a little more explosions in my opinion. Overall I was impressed by the film, it was an overall piece of art. I was amazed by the glamorous fashion, expensive cars, luxurious locations, and amazing music to go along with it. This film is sexy, funny, and entertaining.
