Comic Con 2018 is here! However us locals get to experience it a little earlier with the Laika Live offsite which has been open since pride weekend. This was my first SDCC line of the year and let me tell you it was no fun so have your sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, backup charger ready! They let 10 people in the tour at a time, my line was “short” and the wait was 1.5 hours. *TIP* Laika character cosplay gets you and your group front of the line access!

This years experience featured actual workers from Laika Studios and they explained the behind the scenes magic that goes on plus their experience working there! We even got a chance for photo ops in the Caroline section and got to play with some props! Featuring their top hits such as Coraline, The Boxtrolls, Paranorman, and Kubo.

At the end there is a large store which is separate from the tour. I believe you can go just to the store and not the tour. The store has a variety of exclusive items and at great prices as well! They are having their nike giveaway again this year so don’t forget to sign up at the store!

This tour made me want to get more into my creative side and i noticed a lot of the the kids in our group really enjoyed watching how their favorite movies were made! I would recommend this if you have not checked it out yet, however if you came to the offsite last year and the wait is 2+ hours long I would say its not worth it. In my opinion you will not see many new things compared to last year, many of the same props and sets.
